Going Live with Repricing

How Preview Mode works, what changes when you activate live repricing, who can go live, the pre-launch checklist, and how the irreversible org-level switch is enforced.

Preview Mode and live repricing

Every new organization in Repricing.app starts in Preview Mode. The repricer connects to your channels, syncs your catalog, calculates target prices based on your strategies, and shows you everything in the dashboard and on each listing's detail page. The one thing it does not do is push those calculated prices back to your sales channels.

Going live is the moment you flip that switch. From the second you click Go Live and confirm, the prices the repricer has been computing start flowing to Amazon, Walmart, eBay, Shopify, and BigCommerce on every reprice cycle.

What Preview Mode does (and doesn't do)

While your organization is in Preview Mode:

  • Catalog and orders sync normally. Listings are imported, market data is collected, orders flow into your reports. There's no difference in how data comes into Repricing.app.
  • The repricer calculates target prices. Every listing with a strategy gets a target price the repricer would set. You can see this on each listing's detail page (Pricing tab) and in the dashboard.
  • Price changes are queued, not submitted. Each calculated change is saved as an internal "preview" intent. It sits in the queue indefinitely, never reaching your sales channels.
  • No prices change on your channels. Your existing prices on Amazon, Walmart, etc. stay exactly where they are. Customers see what they always saw.
  • Sync links still work between listings. If you have cross-channel listing sync set up, pricing inputs (cost, min/max, MAP, MSRP, etc.) propagate between linked listings inside Repricing.app. Only the outbound submission to channels is held back.

Preview Mode is designed so you can configure your strategies, costs, and price boundaries with confidence. You see exactly what the repricer would do, without risking a single price change on your channels until you're ready.

What changes when you Go Live

Activating live repricing is a single, irreversible org-level switch. From that point forward:

  • Pending preview intents are promoted. Every queued "preview" price intent in your organization that was waiting for activation is immediately marked as ready to submit. The submit pipeline picks them up within the next minute.
  • New price calculations submit normally. Each subsequent reprice cycle creates intents in the "allowed" state, which flow directly to your sales channels.
  • The Preview Mode banner disappears. The banner at the top of the app is removed for everyone in your organization.
  • All connected channels go live at once. Live mode is org-wide. You can't go live for Amazon only, or for one Shopify store but not another. It's all or nothing.

Who can Go Live

Activating live repricing requires the Owner or Admin role on your organization. Managers and Analysts can see the Preview Mode banner but cannot click the action button.

Members of your organization who do not have permission see an informational version of the banner instead. The title is Preview Mode and the message reads: "Prices are being calculated but not yet submitted to your sales channels. Contact your organization owner or admin to activate live repricing."

See Roles and Permissions for the full role matrix.

Before you go live: a checklist

Since going live is permanent, take a few minutes to verify your setup:

  1. Connect all the channels you want repriced. If you plan to add Walmart or BigCommerce later, that's fine: you can connect additional channels after going live and they will be priced live automatically. But if you intend to test something in Preview Mode first, make sure it's connected now.
  2. Import your costs. Strategies that use cost-based price floors (marketplaces) or cost-based pricing (own store channels) need cost data to compute meaningful prices. Use the Import module to bulk-upload costs from a spreadsheet.
  3. Set min and max prices. Min Price is the floor the repricer will not go below; Max Price is the ceiling it will not exceed. On own store channels, the Min Price you set on each listing is the only floor protection (the strategy wizard skips the Price Floor step), so it's especially important to fill in. See Price Floor.
  4. Review your default strategies. Each enabled region has a default strategy that new listings inherit. Make sure each default is configured the way you want.
  5. Spot-check a handful of listings. Open a few listings, look at the Pricing tab, and confirm the target price the repricer would set looks right. If something is off, it's much easier to fix in Preview Mode than after live submissions start.
  6. Add competitor URLs if you're on own store channels. Shopify, BigCommerce, and eBay listings using Competitor-based pricing need at least one active competitor URL per listing to have a reference. See Tracking External Competitors.
  7. Verify your billing status. Your organization needs to be on an active or trial plan for activation to fully promote pending intents. See How Billing Works.

None of the above are technically required: you can go live without them and the system will just have less data to work with. But they make the live transition smoother.

Going live, step-by-step

When everything is ready:

  1. Look for the Preview Mode banner at the top of any page in the app. It reads "Prices are being calculated but not yet submitted to your sales channels. When you are ready, activate live repricing."
  2. Click the Go Live button on the banner.
  3. A confirmation dialog titled Activate Live Repricing opens with the message: "Once activated, computed prices will be submitted to your connected sales channels. This cannot be undone. Make sure your strategies, min/max prices, and costs are configured correctly before proceeding."
  4. Click the green Go Live button in the dialog to confirm. (Click Cancel to back out: nothing changes.)
  5. The dialog closes, the banner disappears, and the page refreshes. Your organization is now in live mode.

What happens immediately after activation

Activation triggers a few things behind the scenes:

  • Your organization's submit-enabled timestamp is set to the current time. This is the durable record that you have gone live.
  • A real-time broadcast updates the banner state for everyone in your organization. If a teammate has the app open in another tab, their banner disappears too within seconds, without needing to reload.
  • Any preview-state price intents already in the queue for your organization are promoted to the submit-ready state. The submit pipeline picks them up within the next minute (it polls every 60 seconds) and starts pushing them to your sales channels.
  • From this point on, every new price calculation goes through the normal submit pipeline.

Depending on how many listings you have and how long the queue had been building up, you may see a flurry of price changes in your Pricing Activity page in the first few minutes. This is normal: the repricer is catching up on all the work it deferred during Preview Mode.

This is permanent

There is no "go back to Preview Mode" button. Once submit-enabled is set on your organization, it stays set. If you need to stop submitting prices to a channel temporarily, use one of these options instead:

  • Pause an entire channel. Toggle the channel off from the Channels page. All accounts and regions on that channel stop syncing and stop submitting prices. See Managing Channel Accounts.
  • Pause a specific account or region. Use the toggles in the channel's overview or account detail modal.
  • Pause repricing on a single listing. Open the listing's detail page and toggle the "Pause Repricing" switch on the Pricing tab. The listing keeps its current price and stops receiving new ones.
  • Pause repricing for many listings. Use bulk actions from the Listings grid to pause repricing across many listings at once.
  • Limit when repricing runs. Configure a repricing schedule on each strategy to restrict price changes to specific days and hours.

I don't see the Go Live banner

If the Preview Mode banner is missing, one of these conditions is likely true:

  • You're already live. The banner is hidden once your organization has activated. Check the Pricing Activity page: if you see recent submitted price changes, you're already in live mode.
  • No target prices yet. The banner only appears once the repricer has calculated at least one target price. Connect a channel, wait for the initial sync, and assign a strategy to a listing. Once the first target price is computed, the banner appears.
  • A billing warning is taking priority. When there's an active billing issue (failed payment, canceled subscription, etc.), the billing warning banner takes precedence and hides the Preview Mode banner. Resolve the billing issue first and the Preview Mode banner reappears so you can go live.
  • You don't have permission and someone else already went live. If you're a Manager or Analyst, you never saw the action button, only the informational variant. Once an Owner or Admin activates, the banner disappears entirely.

After going live

Live repricing runs on its own. Most sellers monitor it from a few places:

Adjustments to strategies, costs, and min/max prices apply immediately. You don't need to re-activate anything: your organization stays live and the new settings take effect on the next reprice cycle.
