Competitor Analysis

Understand competitor offers, pricing, badges, and fulfillment methods on your marketplace listings.

The Competitors tab

When you open the listing detail page for a marketplace listing, you'll find a Competitors tab. This tab shows you exactly who you're competing against on that product listing, their prices, and key seller information.

This data is pulled directly from the marketplace and updated regularly during each sync cycle.

What you see

The Competitors tab displays a table with up to 20 competitor offers for the product. Each row represents one seller's offer and includes:

Seller information

  • Seller ID. The seller's marketplace identifier. For third-party sellers, this links to their seller profile. Amazon's own retail offers show the seller ID but aren't clickable since Amazon doesn't have a traditional seller profile page.
  • Feedback count. How many feedback ratings the seller has received. Higher numbers generally indicate more established sellers.
  • Shipping origin. Where the seller ships from (for example, "US" or "CN").
  • Condition. The item condition (New, Used, Refurbished, etc.).

Pricing

  • Price. The seller's listed price for this product, including shipping costs where applicable.
  • Buy Box eligibility. Whether this offer is eligible to win the Buy Box.

Badges

Special badges help you quickly spot important offers:

  • YOU. Your own offer, highlighted so you can immediately see where you stand relative to competitors.
  • BUY BOX. The offer that currently holds the Buy Box. This is the seller getting the majority of sales for this product.
  • AMAZON. Amazon's own retail offer (first-party). Competing with Amazon on price is often challenging, which is why many sellers use the competitor filter to exclude Amazon from their strategy.

Fulfillment badges

Each offer also shows which fulfillment method the seller uses:

  • FBA. Fulfillment by Amazon. Products stored in and shipped from Amazon's warehouses.
  • SFP. Seller Fulfilled Prime. The seller ships from their own warehouse but offers Prime delivery.
  • FBM. Fulfilled by Merchant. The seller handles all shipping themselves.

Truncated results

The marketplace API returns a maximum of 20 offers per listing. If more than 20 sellers are competing on a product, you'll see a notice at the top of the tab letting you know the list is truncated. In that case, only the top 20 offers (ranked by price) are shown.

How to use this data

  • Check your position. Find your "YOU" badge and see where your price sits relative to the Buy Box winner and other sellers.
  • Spot Amazon. If Amazon is selling the same product, their offer gets a distinct badge. You can decide whether to compete against them or exclude them from your strategy.
  • Evaluate your competition. Look at feedback counts and fulfillment methods. A seller with 100,000 reviews using FBA is a much stronger competitor than a new FBM seller with 10 reviews.
  • Fine-tune your strategy. Use what you learn here to adjust your pricing settings and competitor filters.

Availability

The Competitors tab is currently available for Amazon listings only. Here's why it differs by channel:

Amazon

Full competitor analysis is available. Amazon's SP-API provides detailed per-seller offer data, including individual seller IDs, prices, fulfillment type (FBA, SFP, FBM), seller ratings, feedback counts, shipping origin, item condition, and Buy Box eligibility. This is the data that powers the Competitors tab.

Walmart

The Competitors tab is not available for Walmart listings. Although Walmart is a marketplace with competing sellers, Walmart's API (Pricing Insights) only returns aggregate data. It does not provide individual competitor offers, seller identities, fulfillment methods, or seller ratings. This is a Walmart API limitation, not a Repricing.app limitation.

What Walmart sellers do get: Buy Box price, Buy Box win/loss status, 30-day Buy Box win rate percentage, lowest competitor price, and a price competitiveness score. This data is shown in the Buy Box and Lowest Price columns on the listings table, and it fully powers the repricing engine for Walmart strategies.

Shopify and other storefronts

The Competitors tab is not shown for storefront channels like Shopify. Since you are the only seller on your own store, there is no competitor data to display.
