Why assign strategies to listings?
Every listing gets a strategy assigned automatically when it syncs into Repricing.app (either the default strategy for the region, or one that was already set). But you'll often want to assign different strategies to different products. For example, aggressive pricing for commodity items where the Buy Box rotates quickly, and conservative pricing for private-label products where you have less competition.
How to assign a strategy
There are four ways to change the strategy assigned to your listings:
From the Listings table (inline)
- Go to Listings in the sidebar.
- Find the listing you want to update in the table.
- Click on the Strategy cell for that listing.
- A dropdown opens showing all available strategies for the listing's channel and region.
- Select the strategy you want. The change saves automatically.
This is the quickest way to change a single listing's strategy without leaving the table. Combine it with search or filters to find specific listings first.
From the Listings page (bulk)
- Go to Listings in the sidebar.
- Select the listings you want by checking the boxes on the left side of each row.
- The bulk actions toolbar appears at the top of the grid.
- Click Assign Strategy in the toolbar.
- A dialog opens showing all your strategies for the matching channel and region. Pick the one you want.
- Confirm the assignment. The selected listings will start using the new strategy on the next repricing cycle.
This is the fastest way to reassign strategies in bulk. Combine it with filters to target specific groups of listings. For example, filter by a particular strategy to find all listings using it, select them, and switch to a new one.
From the listing detail page (individual)
- Click on any listing to open the listing detail page.
- In the Pricing tab, find the Strategy field.
- Click on it to open the strategy selector.
- Choose the strategy you want to assign.
Best for one-off changes when you're already looking at a specific listing.
Via Import module (large catalogs)
If you have hundreds or thousands of listings, manual assignment isn't practical. Use the Import module to upload a file (CSV or Excel) with your SKUs and a strategy column. During import, map the strategy column to the repricing rule field. The system matches each row to the right listing by its SKU and updates the strategy assignment.
Changing a strategy assignment
You can reassign a listing to a different strategy at any time using any of the methods above. The new strategy takes effect on the next repricing cycle. The listing's pricing history in the Pricing Activity page will show when the strategy changed, so you can track the impact.
