If you sell on your own store (Shopify, BigCommerce, or eBay), you know the challenge: unlike Amazon or Walmart, there is no built-in way to see what your competitors are charging. You had to check competitor websites manually, which is time-consuming and easy to forget. That changes today.
Competitor URL monitoring lets you paste competitor product links directly into Repricing.app. The system visits those pages on a regular schedule, extracts the current price, and feeds that data into your repricing strategies automatically.
Adding competitor URLs
Open any listing and go to the Competitors tab. You can add competitor URLs one at a time or paste multiple URLs at once using the bulk add option. Each listing supports up to 10 competitor URLs. For example, if you sell a Bluetooth speaker on Shopify, you might add the same product page from Amazon, Best Buy, and a direct competitor store.
Each URL can have an optional label so you remember which competitor it belongs to. For instance, you could label one "Amazon US" and another "Main Competitor" for quick reference.
Automatic price extraction
Once you add a URL, the system starts checking it automatically. It reads the product page and extracts the current selling price. Most pages are checked every 4 hours, though pages that are harder to read may be checked every 6, 8, or 12 hours depending on their complexity. You do not need to do anything after adding the URL. Prices update in the background and appear in your dashboard in real time.
Health status and monitoring
Every competitor URL shows a health status so you always know what is happening. Active means the system is successfully reading prices. Pending means it has not been checked yet. Stale means the last check was a while ago. Retrying means it encountered a temporary issue and will try again. Failing means multiple checks have failed in a row. Paused means you or the system have stopped checking temporarily.
If a URL fails five times in a row, the system pauses it automatically to avoid wasting resources, and you will see a notification. You can review the issue and resume monitoring whenever you are ready.
Real-time price updates
When a competitor changes their price, you see it reflected in your dashboard without refreshing the page. The Competitors tab shows the latest price, when it was last checked, and when the next check is scheduled. For example, if a competitor drops their price from $49.99 to $39.99, your dashboard updates automatically and the repricing engine can react based on your strategy settings.
Works with your repricing strategies
Competitor URL prices feed directly into your repricing rules. If your strategy is set to beat the lowest competitor by $1.00, and the system finds that your cheapest competitor is selling at $29.99, your price will be adjusted to $28.99 automatically. This closes the gap between marketplace repricing (where competitor data is available via APIs) and own-store repricing (where you previously had no automated competitor tracking).
Managing your competitor URLs
You have full control over each competitor URL. Pause or resume monitoring at any time. Edit the label to keep things organized. Delete URLs you no longer need. The system handles everything else in the background, from scheduling checks to aggregating prices across all your competitor sources.
